How Road Chick Computes Wave Physics

Road Chick executes scalar wave calculations locally on your device using a proprietary wave engine that solves the two-dimensional wave equation in real time. Every frame displays cos(kr - ωt) evaluated across thousands of spatial points simultaneously.

The app renders coherent point sources as expanding circular wavefronts with adjustable wavelength controlled in pixel units. Barrier placement introduces boundary conditions that produce diffraction and interference patterns visible within milliseconds of parameter changes.

Measurement tools sample field amplitude at specified coordinates and compute fringe spacing between constructive interference maxima. All numeric readouts derive from live simulation state rather than pre-rendered assets or lookup tables.
